WOW what a season we are having here at Desperado!! Thanks to all of our guests this year for making this our most successful year since I opened in 2008. With cooler than normal temperatures for August we are all enjoying the break from the heat, and the vines also benefit from a slowdown in the final phase of ripening.
MEET EVA KEEHN! Assistant Manager. Eva hails from a little town near Budapest, and brings with her the wonderful charm and eclectic breakfast recipes from her homeland. She has many years of hospitality experence, is most cordial and I am delighted to have her on board. Eva now shares the kitchen duties as well as overseeing the housekeeping and concierge.
My Inn has been operating for six years. Each year I have continued to invest in, and develop my property, adding additional improvements both internally and externally for the comfort and enjoyment of my guests. The (Desperado) Inn is located just a few minutes from Paso Robles, and is less than ten miles from HW101 or HW46. We are two minutes from the closest winery and within ten minutes of several east side wineries.
The "Desperado" name reflects my desire to crete a blend of the old southwest and Tuscany, both in terms of look and feel and also from a culinary perspective.
DESPERADO INN has four guest suites, all complete with full, private baths and amenities like hair dryers, flat screen movie viewers/DVD players, wine glasses, etc. All of the suites have private patios; the two suites on the west side of the Villa featurng french doors/ walk out access to cozy sundecks. Complimentary popcorn is available to enjoy in the privacy of your rooms along with a selection from over 500 first run movies on DVD.
TIME FOR BREAKFAST! my recipes are highly original and unique to the area. My forthcoming cookbook; "Desperado Style" will be full of plated breakfast dishes; both in terms of colored pictures, recipes, anectdotes, and helpful hints for preparing pleasing and unique morning meals.
My role as Executive Chef has allowed me to create exquisite, gourmet quality breakfasts that incorporate unique blends of spices and locally grown produce.
Some History: The original Master Plan for a boutique winery and Country Inn has been several years in the making and has come to fruition. Our new tasting patio is open ! Come by for a barrel tasting and have a peek inside our Barrel Cave! Better yet, join us for a barrel tasting on the terrace at Happy Hour! The "HOLE IN THE WALL" winery is a micro-winery dedicated to serving our on-premise guests only.
The use of centuries old European gravity fed/forced wine management techniques is where my winery got it's name. The rumors about Butch Cassidy havine holed up near here in the 1870's are highly exagerrated..or are they?
Our hand crafted 100% Estate produced wines are from locally grown grapes. Our Late harvest desert wines are uniquely blended and will compliment many deserts, chocolate, and cigars! Join us on our outdoor cigar deck!
